The KM Signature is a tribute to one of our Pro-Ject heroes Kurt Martens. He was working as a distributor for Canada and the Benelux countries for many years. He is one of the THE experts in turntables. KM Signature is based on the Xtension 9 with a more luxury design and a better motor suspension to avoid motor noise. The addition of precision motor control with electronic speed changing and a highend 9 S-shape aluminium tonearm means playback quality is vastly improved. The heavy chassis is made from MDF using a non-resonant construction technique. The turntable platter is built with heavy, non-resonant aluminium in a precisely balanced sandwich configuration. A vinyl layer acts as the perfect turntable mat. A screwable, precision diamond cut and light-weight record clamp eliminates unwanted record vibration and rumbling of the main platter bearing. The audio performance of the final product benefits from the resonance-free platter, avoiding the ringing effect of common metal and glass platters. An acrylic dust cover is also included.
The top grade aluminium S-Shaped tonearm convinces with a harmonic, musical and engaging sound. Because of the detachable headshell it is very easy to swap out the cartridge.
